General Membership Meeting Minutes
September 16th , 2004

The meeting was called to order, at 6:30 p.m., by Chris White. Attendance was taken by Darcy McCabe. Minutes from the August meeting were accepted by League members with no changes made.

Tina Buford gave the Treasurer’s Report. She stressed that all dues need to be paid in order for member’s status to go unchanged.

CHARITY EVENT
Shea Bryson spoke about the upcoming Camo and Crystal event, September 25th. She acknowledged and thanked the donations made to the event by the Dunkin’s, Guerrero’s and the Franke’s. Registration for the hunting part of the event will be held at Boogie-Boos in Harlingen. Please make sure all members are signed up for a set-up or clean-up shift.

CHILI FOR CHILDREN
Chris White won the first Chili Cook Off this past meeting and there will be a runoff with new chili recipes at the October meeting.

CHILDREN'S CENTER
There will be an orientation Monday, October 4th at the hospital (which will coincide with the October provisional meeting) in the Lobby Classroom-South Tower, 5:30-7:30. This will certify each person to volunteer at the hospital.

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
October 14th will be the Ronald McDonald House Shower, 5:30pm – 7:00pm. The house is registered at Target, Wal-mart and gift cards would be greatly appreciated as well. Dinners are needed for the house as well if anyone is interested in donating/cooking a meal once a month. Please contact Lisa McGee if you have any questions.

COOKBOOK
Lisa Hutchins spoke on behalf of the Cookbook committee. She is challenging every member of league to sell 12 cookbooks this year and get your dues paid for next year. The person with the most sold gets a day at the spa. The books are $20 without tax and the wholesale price will be on purchases of 6 or more. So get out there and SELL SELL SELL!!!!

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Debbie Dunkin welcomed the new provisional class at September’s meeting. We are very excited about the new class this year and look forward to getting to know them better!

There will be no October Rio Review, the next issue will be Nov/Dec.

GOLDEN GLOVE AWARD
Congratulations to Shea Bryson who received the Golden Glove Award for the month of September. She has done an outstanding job with Camo and Crystal! Thank you for your hard work Shea!
