General Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Chris White at 6:30pm.
She introduced the guest speaker for the evening: Sarah Brennan,
who spoke on behalf of the CASA (Court
Appointed Special Advocates) project. This is an organization, seeking volunteers,
to act on the behalf of children in abusive situations. The project offers
training sessions for all volunteers and requires between 8-10 hours a month.

Attendance was taken by Darcy McCabe. Minutes from the last
meeting were approved by the group.
Michele Robinson gave a report on the financial status of league.

Ginger Armstrong reported on this year’s Attic Sale.
- The fundraiser made approx. $5,200. The day was a success and Ginger thanked
her committee and those members who donated time and items.
- Heather Adair was the winner of the Weekend Get-a-way and Tina Buford won
the Day of Beauty. Heather brought in over $1000.00 worth of merchandise.
- Ginger was the winner of this month’s Golden Glove Award!!! Congratulations
Ginger…you did an outstanding job!!!!
Done in a Day – Relay
for Life report was given by Cori Thomas and Elissa Van.
- April 5th is the deadline for monetary donations.
- The event will begin Friday April 8th, at 6:00pm – the survivor walk,
6:15 pm team walk.
- The committee will be selling flowers to be dedicated to a loved one for
$5.00.
- If you have a missed meeting, use this as a make-up shift.
Rio Fest – April
15th, 16th, 17th.
- Please sign up for 1 two-hour shift.
- This year League will be running the Petting Zoo – children are welcome
during your shift.
- Contact Lisa Hutchens for more information and for signing up.
- Friday, April 15th from 9am – 12pm: walk-thru for students and league
members; Friday night laser show.
- Volunteers will receive comp. Tickets (you can pick this up at Kathy Preddy
office’s).
- All children’s area will be free – except carnival.
Jennifer Pollack reported on the nominating committee and passed
out ballots for next year’s nominating committee and member at large.
She announced next year’s elects –
- Treasurer-elect: Susan Nowlin
- Secretary-elect: Chris White
- President-Elect: Lisa Guerrero
Rebecca Franke reported on the Charity Event for 2005.
- The tentative theme is going to be “Texas Hold ‘em.”
- A survey was passed around to determine some aspects of the event ie: location,
raffles, etc…
Lisa Guerrero reported on the Placement Committee. She thanked her committee
for their work this year and reminded everyone to fill out and return their
placemen survey.
Rio Review: April 15th is the last day to anything included
in the Rio Review. Please contact Carly Thomas for more information.
May Luncheon: Kara Smith reported that the May Luncheon will
be held:
- May 21st –Valley Race Park
- Invitations will be sent out with more details.
- Please remember to bring any prospective league members (for the 2005-06
provisional year) to this meeting!
Miscellaneous:
- Darcy McCabe reported that any members interested…St. Anthony School
now has a half-day Montessori Program available for children ages 3 and 4.

- Teri Funk announced the L&F Distributors is in the process of giving
away college scholarships for students graduating high school this year. For
those interested in learning more, please contact Teri.
- Lisa Guerrero is hosting a Kelley's Kids trunk show at her home, April
7th. If you are interested please call!
