Making up Missed Meetings/Functions

  • If you are unable to make a General Membership Meeting, contact your placement advisor as soon as possible and state the reason for your absence.
    • If you do miss a General Membership Meeting, you are permitted two (2) absences. If your absences exceed two, you may be called before the Executive Committee for possible removal.
    • "What can I do to make up for missed meetings?" You can contribute your time in a number of ways, including:

      Volunteer at the VBMC Children's Center
      September Prepare dinners for the Ronald McDonald House
      Volunteer at the VBMC Children's Center
      October Prepare dinners for the Ronald McDonald House
      Volunteer at the VBMC Children's Center
      Ronald McDonald House Shower
      November Prepare dinners for the Ronald McDonald House
      Volunteer at the VBMC Children's Center
      Dining by Design (options TBA)
      Chili Cook-off for kids (work 1 shift)
      VBMC Children's Gala (1 decorating shift)
      Feast of Sharing (work 1 shift)
      RGV Birding Festival (1 shift @ cookbook booth)
      December Prepare dinners for the Ronald McDonald House
      Volunteer at the VBMC Children's Center
      Ronald McDonald Christmas Decorating
      Bake for Annual Christmas Tea
      Attend Christmas Tea
      January Prepare dinners for the Ronald McDonald House
      Volunteer at the VBMC Children's Center
      Attend Open Finance Meeting

  • Certain activities carry a mandatory attendance and minimum number of hours (i.e., Camo & Crystal, Attic Sale, and RioFest). According to the by laws, fines may be assessed for those who do not fulfill their requirements:
    • RioFest: $50 per missed shift;
    • Charity Event: $50 per missed setup/take down shift in addition to the customary cost of one general admission ticket.
  • Complete the Missed Meeting Make-up Form and turn it in to your placement advisor.
